So I survived my first Fran tonight – Double Under Fran to be exact or Fran plus 450 singles for those of us who haven’t mastered Double Unders yet.
I was a little nervous when I saw today’s WOD since I’m still working on my Thrusters form. Luckily the coaches the coaches have been extremely helpful in providing modifications since I am still new to CrossFit. I used dumbbells for the Thrusters which is great because I’m pretty sure I would have hit myself in the face if I was using the barbell. I can’t do several reps of pull ups yet so I did my first two rounds as body weight rows on the rings and for my final round of pull ups I used the resistance band. I forgot to write down my time but I think it was 17:42. Our challenge for the day was a 1 minute AMRAP of box jumps and I was able to do 22.
When I got home I made a delicious protein smoothie.
Vanilla Pumpkin Protein smoothie:
- One serving of vega one French vanilla nutritional shake (dairy, gluten & soy free and no sugar added)
- A few spoonfuls of organic canned pumpkin
- 6 or 7 ounces of water
- 2 or 3 ice cubes
- A dash or two of cinnamon
Hopefully I won’t be too sore tomorrow!
